Finished Object: Summer Chevron Cowl

Originally published on September 11, 2015This was a super fun cowl that — appropriately named — took me all summer long to finish! In actuality, the reason I named it the Summer Chevron Cowl is that while it’s long enough to wrap around your neck twice, and has enough alpaca in the mix to keep you warm, the yarn is balanced with both linen and bamboo, which keep it breathable and not-too-hot on those summer evenings. Finished Object: Falling Leaves Cowl

Originally published April 12, 2013Yes!  Don’t you love it when you look at a cone of yarn, take a stab at a pattern to match, and get it right the very first time?  That’s what I did with the Falling Leaves Cowl and our Dorothy yarn.  These two couldn’t have been a better match, the pattern knit up beautifully, without a hitch. Even though there are multiple repeats of this 22-row repeat, they flew by, and the project took satisfyingly close to a full cone of yarn.
