FO :: Stripe Study Shawl

***Originally published on April 24, 2015***Remember this one?  She was the star of our Fall Knit-Along, and has been proudly displayed in our front window, inspiring dozens of asymmetrical shawls and scarves ever since.In my version, I mimicked the colors shown in the printed pattern, using a solid fingering weight wool/merino blend, in contrasting red and grey. This wrap is all garter stitch, but the part that keeps it interesting is the short rows, which are what give it this asymmetrical look, with the stripes on one side gathering more closely together than on the other....

Finished Object: Falling Leaves Cowl

Originally published April 12, 2013Yes!  Don’t you love it when you look at a cone of yarn, take a stab at a pattern to match, and get it right the very first time?  That’s what I did with the Falling Leaves Cowl and our Dorothy yarn.  These two couldn’t have been a better match, the pattern knit up beautifully, without a hitch. Even though there are multiple repeats of this 22-row repeat, they flew by, and the project took satisfyingly close to a full cone of yarn.
